LIONS LOOP 2017

This is one of our favourite projects to date. This 1km paved pathway is located around the perimeter of our fairgrounds and is accessible for all. This is a great place for a safe and enjoyable walk or ride year round.

FOSTER HEWITT MEMORIAL PLAYGROUND 2016

The addition of this harbour playground was a huge success and a perfect project to coincide with our “Randy Skinner Family Splashpad” that was added in 2013. With the help of ABC Playgrounds LTD., Lions Members and Hill’s Home Hardware we were able to complete this project very quickly. We also donated the previous park equipment to another location.

SKATE PARK REFURBISHMENT 2014

This park was originally built in 1999 but after 15 years of use, it needed a face lift. The original park was removed and sat empty for 1 year while we made plans for a new one. New plans were drawn up and on May 24th we had a Community Build with the help of ABC Recreation.

RANDY SKINNER FAMILY SPLASH PAD

In 2012, Lion Randy Skinner had a vision of transforming the underutilized Beaverton Harbor into a place for friends and neighbours to gather with their children to socialize and enjoy the outdoors by installing an 1,800 sq ft splash pad. The splash pad was designed to be accessible for people with disabilities and allow children to enhance their strength, agility and motor skills along with their social skills.  Beaverton Lions used monies raised from our annual Elimination Draw and other fundraising activities and combined with a generous community and government support, Randy’s vision became a reality. The Splash Pad was opened June 29, 2013.
